One-to-one support

How online consultations are structured, what each stage involves, and what to expect from the process.

Why bone health requires structured, ongoing support

Why bone health requires structured support

Bone density changes slowly, and the factors that influence it shift as your health, medication, and circumstances change. A single consultation cannot account for that.

Structured, ongoing support keeps recommendations current and gives the regular review points needed to stay on track.

How we work together

Initial online consultation

The first online video consultation covers your diet, medical history, current medication, digestive function, and lifestyle in detail, to build a clear picture of what is influencing your bone health.

Where relevant, functional testing may be recommended to identify factors not visible in a standard bone density scan, such as vitamin D status or inflammatory markers.

1

Treatment plan

Following the initial assessment, a treatment plan is produced covering dietary recommendations, supplement guidance where indicated, and relevant lifestyle factors.

Recommendations are specific to your scan results, medical history, and current diet, and are set out in a format that is straightforward to follow.

Ongoing refinement

As you put the plan into practice, follow-up online video consultations provide the opportunity to review what is working, address any difficulties, and adjust recommendations where needed.

The plan is built around your actual routine from the start, and refined as your circumstances change.

Longer-term review

For people working toward a follow-up bone density scan, longer-term consultations provide the opportunity to review progress against that baseline.

Any changes in medical treatment or scan results are factored in and the nutritional approach adjusted accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions most people ask before booking an initial consultation.

  • Bone health is influenced by long-term nutritional, lifestyle and physiological factors. For that reason, support is structured over a minimum of three months, with six months often allowing more time to review, refine and embed changes.

The appropriate duration depends on your individual circumstances, medical history and priorities, which we discuss at the outset.

  • Support for bone health is gradual because bone tissue adapts slowly over time. The focus is on building sustainable habits and ensuring your nutrition supports your overall health alongside any medical care you are receiving.

Some people notice earlier changes such as improved energy, greater confidence in their food choices, or feeling more comfortable and capable in their daily movement and routines.

Changes in bone density itself occur over longer timeframes and are typically monitored through DEXA scans arranged by your healthcare provider.

  • All consultations are conducted online by video call. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a quiet space. A link is sent in advance and no software download is required.

  • No. Nutrition support is designed to work alongside existing medical care, not replace it. Decisions regarding medication remain between you and your GP or specialist.

I assess any potential interactions between your medications and recommended foods or supplements, and I encourage you to keep your GP informed about any changes following your consultation, so your care remains fully coordinated.

  • If helpful and with your written consent, collaboration with your wider healthcare team can be arranged.

The aim is to ensure recommendations remain aligned with your existing medical advice and that you feel supported from all sides.

  • Testing is not automatically required. In some cases, functional or nutritional testing may be discussed if it would meaningfully inform your plan and monitor your progress.

Any testing is optional and considered carefully in the context of your broader medical history and current investigations.

  • Many people seeking support have already tried adjusting their diet independently.

The difference here is a personalised, guided approach — bringing together your diet, lifestyle, medical history, and current treatment into a coordinated plan that is reviewed and refined over time.

The focus isn’t on restrictive dieting, but on building practical, realistic, and sustainable habits that support your long-term health in a way that feels achievable and manageable.

  • Yes. Support can be appropriate whether you are navigating osteopenia, osteoporosis, or taking a preventative approach to bone health.

Guidance is adapted to your diagnosis, medical history and current treatment, with nutrition and lifestyle recommendations designed to complement your wider medical care.

  • Recommendations are designed to be realistic and sustainable. There is no expectation to change everything at once.

We focus on gradual, manageable adjustments that fit within your daily life, with regular review and refinement as your needs evolve.

Meaningful, lasting change takes time, so working together over the longer term allows your plan to be adapted, supported, and embedded in a way that promotes sustainable health improvements.

  • We begin with a detailed case review covering diet, lifestyle, medical history, medication use and activity levels.

From there, guidance is structured specifically around your circumstances, preferences, and priorities, rather than following a generic template.

  • Because bone health changes gradually and benefits from longer-term support, consultations are structured as a programme rather than a single session.

This allows recommendations to be implemented thoughtfully, monitored, and adapted over time. Working together longer term helps ensure changes are realistic, embedded, and responsive to your progress — rather than offered as a standalone session.

  • A short discovery call provides space to explore your circumstances and ask questions before making a decision.

There is no obligation to proceed, the aim is simply to determine whether this approach aligns with your needs and whether my programmes are likely to be worthwhile for you.
